Hurdles champion Sanchez retires

Reigning Olympic 400-metre hurdles champion Felix Sanchez has announced his retirement.

He announced this here on Tuesday via a video press conference, reports Xinhua.

The 38-year-old won't be able to defend his title in Rio Olympic Games. He also claimed a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics.

During his career, he won 43 straight 400-metre hurdles races between 2001 and 2004.
