Hyundai Motor India Friday reported a 14.6 percent fall in its overall sales in October, which stood at 50,212 units as compared to 58,784 units sold in the corresponding month of 2012.
According to the company, its domestic sales increased by 0.6 percent in the month under review and stood at 36,002 units from 35,778 units sold in the corresponding month of last year.
The company reported a month-on-month increase of 17 percent in domestic sales with sales of 36,002 units in October from 30,601 units dispatched during September.
"In this challenging market environment, (domestic) sales have increased over last month by 17 percent on account of monsoons, festival buying and strong sales of 11,519 units of new model Grand," said Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president (sales and marketing), Hyundai Motor India.
However, the passenger car manufacturer reported 38.2 percent decline in exports for the last month which stood at 14,210 units, down from 23,006 units shipped out in October, 2012.
