Actress Tripta Lakhanpal, who is currently seen as PD in TV show "Zindagi Ki Mehek", says she had to sacrifice her dream of acting for her family when she was young.
The 75-year-old stepped into the world of ad films at the age of 63 and made her Bollywood debut as Kangana Ranaut's grandmother in the 2014 film "Queen".
"I always wanted to be an actor, but circumstances were such that I couldn't pursue my dream at a young age. And, what I couldn't achieve then, I am trying to achieve now," Tripta said in a statement.
"I got so busy with my family and kids, that my foremost dream took a back seat. I eventually found my way and I'm living my dream. I finally managed to achieve in my 70s what I dreamt of as a 16-year-old girl. I feel really content and happy about the work I'm doing," she added.
Talking about her role in "Zindagi Ki Mehek", Tripta said: "PD might be the eldest member of the family, but her thoughts are as young and modern as a teenager. A big fan of veteran actor Dilip Kumar, she is very close to her granddaughter Mehek (Samiksha Jaiswal) and shares a special bond with her."
