British-Canadian actress of Indian descent Hannah Simone says she is drawn towards international relations due to her "bizarre nomadic childhood".

"So I grew up internationally. I grew up in Saudi Arabia and India and Cyprus, and I lived in a war-zone myself and, I mean, I had a pretty bizarre, I guess, nomadic childhood, and so I was really drawn to international relations and political science," Hannah said in a statement.

Hannah added: "I worked at the United Nations. Then I was based in London working on these projects, and then became a little frustrated that the world around us was changing so much and how young people were receiving information on world issues.

"They weren't, like, reading policy briefings that we were writing in our office. They were, you know, watching, like, Michael Moore documentaries and John Stewart on 'The Daily Show', so I decided to switch mediums to talk."

She is better known as CeCe Parekh of "New Girl" - which is aired in India on Star World. Born to an Indian father and a German mother, Hannah plays a model on the show. Along with actress Zooey Deschanel, she is one of the main casts in the series which talks about life, love and friendship.
