Actress Emma Roberts says she had a "complex" about her pale skin for most of her life, after being taunted about it as a child.
The 24-year-old talked about her insecurities after the photo-shoot for a "Photoshop-free" upcoming campaign for American Eagle brand Aerie's Fall 2015, reports people.com.
"I definitely have a complex about being pale because I've been made fun of my whole life, so I was nervous about that," said Roberts.
The "American Horror Story" actress also explained how she battled a number of insecurities about her body while growing up.
"When I was a kid, everyone would be like, 'Your legs are so pale! I can't believe you're wearing a dress!' And I would get so embarrassed. I would get spray tans, and I look back at those photos now, and I just think: Oh my goodness, you're orange. I would tell my younger self to stop spray-tanning so much. Just own it," she said.
Aerie launched the campaign, which features unretouched shots of women of all skin tones and body types, last year.
