Minerva Punjab FC will look to halt the Aizawl FC juggernaut when the two sides lock horns in an I-League encounter here on Saturday.
Visitors Aizawl are having a dream run in the ongoing I-League season and are top of the table at the moment. The Mizoram side have just lost two matches and are on 29 points from 13 games, two ahead of second-placed East Bengal.
In their last game, they won away as well against DSK Shivajians. So in order to stop them, Minerva will need to be aggressive and sharp in front of goal.
"The team right now need goals and I'm here to contribute in whatever capacity I can," Minerva striker Girik Khosla said.
Minerva coach Surinder Singh also said that the team will aim to beat Aizawl so they can utilise the break and head into the last phase of the I-League with confidence.
"Arashpreet (Singh) is suspended and we're working on the right choice to make sure we grab full points," he said.
