The Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Public-Private Partnership) Bill, 2017, which seeks to declare certain IIITS established under public-private partnership as institutions of national importance, was introduced in Lok Sabha on Monday.
Moving the bill, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said the bill was introduced with a view to developing new knowledge in information technology and to provide manpower of global standards for the information technology Industry.
He also introduced the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill, 2017, which seeks to amend the landmark 2009 law.
