The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee on Friday embarked on a digitisation project which will lead to better inventory management and operational efficiency, among other benefits, across its campuses in Roorkee, Saharanpur and Greater Noida, a release said.
The project named "Advaita" in its first phase will see digitisation of some of the core functional aspects like transactions related to disbursements, assets, purchase requisitions, purchase orders and inventory management.
"Going in an operational mode with implementation and completion of ADVAITA ERP Digitisation Project, IIT Roorkee is set to efficiently transform its processes & systems for operational efficiency, transparency and a better user experience in day-to-day functionalities for the students & administration alike," a IIT Roorkee and Atos, a digital services company, said in a joint release.
The release said that by the end of second phase next year, the institute will have integrated all three of its campuses and will be able to focus on analytics, better and quick decision making, robust and accurate business information, improved financial reporting, and simple easy-to-use interfaces.
"The digital transformation of the campuses is expected to bring quick decision making and de-burdening of the administrative through devolution of work, among other benefits," the release said.
