The Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association (IKCA) Saturday debarred 13 athletes for one year for committing age fraud during the 24th National Championships held at Lower Lake, Bhopal, from Jan 15-20.

An IKCA statement said that the decision was taken based on the recommendations made by the chairman of the age fraud committee. These athletes will not be able to participate in National Championships and selection trials for a year.

One of the athletes -- Charan Singh of Madhya Pradesh -- had produced two age certificates. He, along with the state he represents, can face further disciplinary action if he is found to be in the wrong in more things.

The list of debarred athletes: Boy Singh, Hari Dass Singh, Yaiphaba N., O. Chanchan Devi, H. Vaiphva Devi (all from Manipur), Ajay Kumar, Salam Abassi, Sumit Kumar, Imran Khan (all from Jharkhand), M.N. Singh, Laitonjane Singh (both from Arunachal Pradesh), Ravinder Kumar (Uttarakhand) and Charan Singh (Madhya Pradesh).
