Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said the government will take steps to expel immediately all illegal Afghan refugees from the region.

He said that a mechanism would be evolved for honourable repatriation of legal Afghan refugees as soon as possible, Dawn online reported.

"Similarly our borders with Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) also need immediate attention to secure Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and rest of the country from infiltration of miscreants wherein sending back and deployment of Frontier Corps platoons at FATA borders is prerequisite," he added.

Khattak said that durable peace, prosperity and progress are possible only by strictly following the golden principles of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

He asked the people of the province to have full confidence in their elected government as it is taking all measures to ensure peace, safety and prosperity by practicing the Quaid's teachings in letter and spirit.
