A man posing as a doctor and running a trauma centre without a licence was arrested and his hospital sealed, police said Thursday.
Ravinder Kumar was nabbed Wednesday for operating Adarsh Trauma Centre in Sohna town, some 25 km from Gurgaon city, without proper permission.
"The accused was not even a registered medical practitioner but he claimed to have various medical degrees and was treating patients," Gurgaon Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Pushpa Bishnoi told IANS.
"We are conducting raids on quacks running private hospitals. Wednesday evening Ravinder was asked to produce papers supporting his medical practice but he failed to show the same. Meanwhile, people running three hospitals in the same area managed to flee after locking their building premises," the CMO said.
