Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday met senior police officials and instructed them to be vigilant during the ongoing festive season.
Meeting the Police Commissioner, Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), and Joint Commissioners of Police, he issued them a few safety guidelines to follow, including ensuring that all CCTVs cameras in markets, malls and crowded places are fully functional and also to be particularly vigilant by keeping a close watch on major markets where increased footfall is expected.
He expressed special concern at inadequate training of security personnel of private agencies manning malls, cinema, halls etc, and asked police to be extra careful in all such places.
He also instructed the officials to deploy sufficient number of police personnel during Navratara, Moharram, and Ramleela gatherings where a large number of people congregate.
