India and Ghana discussed development cooperation and people-to-people ties among other issues and signed two agreements following a delegation-level meeting headed by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Ghanaian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Shirley Botchwey here on Wednesday.

"Two sides discussed enhancing cooperation in development cooperation, capacity building, trade and investment and people-to-people relationship," External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted.

Ghana is one of India's important partners in West Africa.

While bilateral trade stands at $3.5 billion, India is the second largest investor in Ghana.

Other important aspects of the relationship include development partnership, defence cooperation, capacity building, cultural cooperation and people-to-people contacts.

There is a sizeable Indian community in Ghana numbering around 10,000.
