Oscar-winning scriptwriter Alexander Dinelaris Jr, who is scouting for scriptwriters in collaboration with Bollywood actor Boman Irani, says India is a land that has many mythological stories to offer to the world.
The writer visited India last week for the inauguration of Boman's production house Irani Movietone. They conducted a workshop with young scriptwriters and will be doing more programmes to teach the craft of scriptwriting to the budding talent.
Boman said: "We are playing with the idea of taking six students/young writers from India to New York along with six writers from there and put all of them together in a writer's room, ask them to develop their script and exchange thoughts... It will somewhere change their view towards life, and storytelling in our Indian writers through the experience.
"Then maybe next year, six international students can come to India and look for some beautiful stories in our country, which is culturally so rich," added the "3 Idiots" actor.
Dinelaris said: "India is a land filled with stories. You see, in Hollywood films, we have so many stories that are based on superhero characters... We spend money on them, earn from them as well, but what are they (superhero characters)?
"Those are mythical characters, right? India is a volcano of mythological stories I am sure it will be an eye-opener for many international students who are going to visit and exchange ideas."
