After a convincing win against New Zealand in the opening match of the five-match Test series in Australia, the Indian junior men's hockey team downed Japan 7-0, in preparation for the 8th men's Junior Asia Cup in 2015.
From the first minute of the match, Indian colts were in control and gave no room to the opposition.
India received a early penalty corner and defender Varun Kumar converted for the first goal of the match. After leading 1-0, India received two more back-to-back penalty corners, and both the opportunities were easily converted into goals by penalty corner specialist and defender Harmanpreet Singh.
After leading by 3-0, forward Sumit Toppo sneaked into the opponents' defence-line and smashed the ball in the goal, giving India a 4-0 lead.
Maintaining the supremacy, Indians managed to earn another penalty corner and this time again, Varun pushed the ball into the box for a 5-0 scoreline.
The Indian colts continued to attack from all fronts and kept the opposition' players busy. Forward Parvinder Singh scored the sixth goal for India Sumit Toppo scored his second of the match and India's seventh.
