India set 413-run target for Sri Lanka to win second Test

India declared their second innings of the second cricket Test against Sri Lanka at 325/8 on the fourth day of play at the P. Sara Oval here on Sunday, setting a 413-run win-target for the hosts.

Resuming the day at 70/1, Ajinkya Rahane (126) and Murali Vijay (82) were the main scorers for India who extended their 87-run first innings lead to 412 runs.

Sri Lanka require to score 413 runs to win the fixture and take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

For Sri Lanka, pacer Dhammika Prasad (4-43) and off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal (4-118) shared the Indian wickets. The duo didn't allow the Indian lower-order to score freely after claiming Rahane and Rohit Sharma (34).

At tea, India were 283/5 in 82 overs with Stuart Binny (17 not out) and Ravichandran Ashwin (2 not out) at the crease. Binny only added two and Ashwin 17 in the post-tea session.

Wriddhiman Saha, after being retired hurt in the second session, returned to score an unbeaten 17. Amit Mishra made 10 while Umesh Yadav was not out at 4.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli declared the innings after his team batted for nine overs after tea.
