The Indian and Chinese armies on Tuesday held ceremonial meetings of their personnel in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Ceremonial border personnel meetings on the occasion of 'Chinese Spring Festival' were held today (Tuesday) at the border personnel meeting huts in Chushul and Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sectors of eastern Ladakh, Colonel S.D. Goswami, spokesman of the army's Udhampur-headquartered Northern Command, told IANS here.

"At Chushul, the delegations were led by Brigadier R.S. Raman and Senior Colonel Qian Youu Wu while at DBO, the respective delegations were led by Colonel B.S. Uppal and Lieutenant Colonel Duan Yugang.

"The meetings were marked by hoisting of national flags by both the delegations, followed by opening addresses by their leaders. The proceedings reflected the mutual desire of maintaining and improving relations at the functional level on the border," he said.

Thereafter, a programme showcasing the vibrant Chinese cultural and traditional grandeur was organised.
