Following their fourth place finish in the recently concluded Under-21 Volvo Invitational, the Indian junior hockey team will take part in a preparatory camp at Shilaroo, Himachal Pradesh, from August 9 to September 11.
A total of 32 players will be part of the camp to train for the fifth Sultan of Johor Cup and eighth Junior Asia Cup, scheduled in October and November, respectively. Both tournaments will be played in Malaysia.
"The young boys have huge talent and capabilities and can deliver under a tough situation at any given day. The next two tournaments in October and November are very important for us and we will aim to win both. This camp will help us work on our team coordination along with working on different areas which will help us deliver better in crucial matches," coach Harendra Singh said.
The Indian team for the Sultan of Johor Cup, slated from October 11 to 18, will aim to defend their title. The Junior Asia Cup will be played from November 14 to 22.
