Pastry chefs from India will compete in the Juniors Pastry World Championship to be held in Italy early next year.
The competition will be a part of SIGEP in Rimini in January 2017. It is an International exhibition in which different cultures and food traditions meet and share and exchange projects.
At SIGEP 2017 show, the Junior Pastry World Cup will be take place with participants from 10 countries competing for the title.
Arjun Gupta and Manjot Kalra of Academy of Pastry Arts India, winner of the first ever Junior Pastry Indian Cup held at capital suburb Gurgaon will represent India at the event, said a statement.
The duo earned the right after winning two day Junior Pastry Indian Cup event which saw seven best pastry teams in the age group of 18-22 from across the country competing against each other. They displayed their mastery over the sugar and chocolate pieces. Based on overall creativity and presentation, a team of judges led by celebrity chef Ranveer Brar, the two as winners.
Other judges were Chef Avijit Ghosh, Chef Parvinder Singh Bali and Chef Niklesh Kumar Sharma.

Brar said: "It's important to bring talent and industry together on platforms that challenge and engage. Junior Pastry Indian Cup is such a platform that creates an ecosystem of learning and growth."
Ghosh said: "Junior Pastry Indian Cup has given much needed fillip to art of pastry making in India. It will also encourage more youngsters to take up the profession of pastry arts."
The chosen chefs will undergo further intensive training at Academy of Pastry Arts Gurgaon and Malaysia to hone up their skills to help them leave a mark internationally.
