The upcoming "Indian Pharmaceutical Congress 2018" would discuss various aspects of the industry including the impact of e-pharmacy players on brick and mortar pharmacies.
The 70th edition of the annual conclave would be held from December 21 to December 23 and would be based on the theme "Pharma Vision 2030: Indian Pharma Industry - A Global Leader", the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association (IPCA) said in statement.
IPCA is the organiser of the three-day event.
The event would have discources on issues including "mushrooming of e-pharmacies in the country and its ripple effect on the brick and mortar stores; and prescribing only generic drugs instead of branded generics".
Dilip Shanghvi, the MD of Sun Pharma and President of the conclave, said: "The regulatory policies of India are to be harmonised so that India becomes a global leader in pharma, including generics, active pharmaceutical ingredients, medical devices and diagnostics."
The other subjects would include regulatory landscape of the Indian pharma industry and addressing talent gaps in the industry, the IPCA statement said.

The 70th edition of the conclave would be inaugurated by Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India, it added.
