Low-cost airline IndiGo on Monday said it has launched an appathon, inviting travel enthusiasts, ideators and innovators, tech and start-ups and creatives to participate in the competition.
"IndiGo is giving away over 500 tickets to the winners on its domestic network. The winners presenting the most exciting and gripping app will take home 100 return tickets," the company said in a release issued on the occasion of the anniversary of its ninth year of operations.
"The airline will award 75 return tickets to the first runner up, 50 return tickets to the second runner up, 25 return tickets to the third runner up and 10 return tickets to the fourth runner up of the competition," it added.
The app categories in the competition include app to make travel easy, app for crowd funded travelling, app using APIs from other sources like Facebook and Twitter, app for travel suggestions and planning and a IndiGo themed gaming App.
Commenting on the appathon, Aditya Ghosh, IndiGo president, said: "The #6EAppsters contest or the appathon is one of a kind championship as we celebrate IndiGo's 9th birthday and we go beyond to build long lasting bonds with our community."
