Hamas has said that the indirect talks between Israel and the Palestinians to restore peace in the Gaza Strip will resume in Cairo.
"Next week, there will be meetings in Cairo to set up a framework and timetable for the indirect talks," the Hamas spokesman in Gaza, Sami Abu Zuhri, told Xinhua.
The official renewal of the indirect talks that are sponsored by Egypt will resume after the holiday of Eid-ul-Azha Oct 4, the spokesman said.
A senior Palestinian official Saturday said that the leaders of Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah party are scheduled to meet in Cairo to resume internal dialogue on reconciliation.
On Aug 26, Egypt brokered a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas-led factions, ending a 50-day large-scale air and ground operation on the Gaza Strip that killed 2,145 Palestinians and 70 Israelis.
