Indonesia, the host for this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, has tightened security on Bali Island, where the two-day summit will be held from Monday, as more leaders arrived.
About 4,924 policemen, including intelligence officers and the special counter-terrorism squad, were deployed to safeguard this major international event, reports Xinhua.
Some 5,000 delegates, 1,500 journalists and 400 business leaders are expected to attend the summit.
Further, the army, air force and navy would deploy special forces and a flotilla to oversee the summit.
Road and air traffic control had already been deployed. The Bali International Airport will be closed for civilians Oct 6-9.
