The Delhi government has suspended a senior official of the Indraprashta Power Generation Company Ltd (IPGCL) on charges of corruption, an official statement said on Thursday.
The suspension came on the orders of Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain after it was found that the officer had committed fraud in claiming leave travel concession.
Power Secretary Sukesh Kumar had received complaints that the senior officer, whose name was not mentioned, had committed fraud in claiming LTC. On preliminary enquiry, the allegations were found to be true, said the statement.
The statement, however do not mention the name of the government official.
"A departmental enquiry has also been initiated against him and IPGCL has been directed to recover the amount wrongly drawn by the officer along with penal interest," it added.
