Aimed at fostering industry-academia collaboration to provide solutions on climate change, the Jadavpur University Wednesday joined hands with a business chamber and a management firm to set up a research centre here.
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), and DFIC Management Consultants (Germany and India) are partners in the setting up of the Centre for Energy and Climate Excellence (CECE), for which the official agreement was inked during the day.
CECE is driven towards creating a business model for value added services in energy and environment management.
"CECE is a self sustaining organization and a point of reference for energy and climate mitigation related issues for the public sector units and MSMEs and corporates with international know-how and local expertise," said P. Roy, director general, BCCI.
Jadavpur University is responsible for providing the researchers and undertaking studies, whereas the industry body will function as the platform and reach out to potential partners.
Management expertise and international trends will be brought to CECE, courtesy DFIC.
The focus of CECE is to undertake consulting and research-based activities towards meeting the needs of businesses in the realms of energy conservation, energy planning and sustainable management practices.
