Infosys Ltd Thursday signed a multi-year contract with Japanese auto major Toyota Motor to manage its IT services in Europe.
"The four-year deal envisages deployment of a managed service model, covering applications across Toyota's operational areas in Europe, including automotive processes to enable its IT employees focus on business and project development," the global software major said in a statement here.
The IT bellwether has been a key partner of Toyota for its pan-European projects and transformation delivery services.
"As Toyota has a range of applications across its operations in Europe, our support is a crucial part of its IT operations. Bringing consistency and predictability to the management of these will help the auto major reduce costs and improve service levels for its customers and employees," Infosys' regional head for manufacturing Nitesh Bansal said in the statement.
The managed services model provides consistent service level agreements to support Toyota's 150 applications across Europe and enhance satisfaction and experience of its pan-European user base of employees, dealers and vehicle owners.
"Moving to a managed service model for our application support will help us track and improve service levels across the portfolio. Secondly, Infosys' global delivery model, coupled with scale, productivity benefits and continuous improvements will help us optimise application management costs," said Toyota's chief information officer Pierre Masai.
