Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal on Thursday directed that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) be put in place for preventing vector-borne dengue and chikungunya diseases in Delhi.
He issued these directions in a meeting held to review the preparedness to deal with the diseases in Delhi.
The meeting was attended by Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Delhi Chief Secretary M.M. Kutty along with officials from the three civic bodies, and health and urban development departments.
He discussed the past experiences and challenges and status of present preparedness.
"The role of every stakeholder must be clear so that there is effective implementation of measures to control mosquito breeding. These SOPs should be brought into public domain for public awareness," Baijal said in the meeting.
For proper coordination among the agencies, the L-G also asked all stakeholders to share copies of their action plans for prevention of vector-borne diseases.
