An integrated textile park, caustic soda plant, aerospace design centre, and a bio-technology venture capital fund are going to come up in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister J.Jayaalithaa told the assembly on Tuesday.
Make a statement in the assembly, Jayalalithaa said an integrated textile processing park at an outlay of Rs.150 crore will be set up in Ramanathapuram district.
He said the textile park will also have a one crore litre per day desalination plant.
She said Tamil Nadu Salt Corporation partnering with a private sector company would set up a caustic soda plant at an investment of Rs.200 crore at Vedaranyam in Nagapattinam district, while the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd (TIDCO) would set up a aerospace design centre at an outlay of Rs.350 crore in Sriperumbudur near here.
Jayalalithaa also announced the setting up of Rs.50 crore Biotechnology Venture Capital Fund with contributions from state and its undertakings and also from private parties.
She also announced plans to expand the Chennai Trade Centre at a project cost of Rs.298 crore; and setting up of a logistics park by TCI Distribution Centres Ltd at an investment of Rs.270 crore at two places near here.
Jayalalithaa said three cooperative sugar mills in the state will be modernised at a total outlay of Rs.118.99 crore.
