Inter Milan have announced the signing of midfielder Roberto Gagliardini on loan from Serie A football league rivals Atalanta until June 2018 for two million euros ($2.1 million), with an option of a final purchase for 20 million euros ($23.1 million).
"I am delighted to be an Inter player. This is a dream come true," the 22-year-old said in a statement on Wednesday.
Gagliardini has delivered an outstanding performance with Atalanta since the beginning of the season, and helped the team reach sixth position in the Serie A standings, just three points behind third place, reports Efe.
He was targeted by several clubs, especially Serie A reigning champions Juventus, but Inter had the final word.
In fact, Inter did not announce the official amount of the deal, but media predicted that Atalanta will get around $23.1 million, in addition to other variables.
