Global policing agency Interpol on the request of the Indian authorities has issued a red-corner notice (RCN) against two criminals wanted in a murder case in Tripura, police said here Thursday.
"Interpol has issued the RCN against Mujibur Rahaman and Balaram Rajbhar, who were wanted by west Agartala police station in connection with a murder case and also for other anti-social activities," a police spokesman told reporters.
The two men, along with five others, are believed to have murdered 48-year-old Dilip Ghosh, a contractor, on Nov 9 last year. Police have already arrested five people in connection with the case, but the two key suspects are on the run.
"Both the criminals might have taken shelter in neighbouring Bangladesh," the police official said.
He said: "The Interpol notice along with the photographs of both the criminals was issued from its headquarters in Lyon (France) on June 18 to its 190 member-countries to take necessary action."
Earlier, Tripura police requested the union home ministry to take up the matter with the global policing agency.
