The Rajasthan government signed MoUs for 18 projects worth 487.96 crore on the second day of Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) here, an official statement said.
These projects will provide direct employment to 6, 241 people and indirect employment to 1, 160 people, as per the state government release.
The potential investment will be in areas such as cold storage, warehousing, seed processing plants, green housee farming, food processing, onion dehydration, quinoa processing, garlic grading & processing, private sub mandi yard, cooperation and collaboration in research, training and education and milk processing.
State Agriculture Minister Prabhu Lal Saini said the investors would play a pivotal role in the Central government's plan of doubling farmers' income.
As per the government, about 44,000 farmers living in and around Udaipur are expected to visit theAthree - day GRAM summit that began on Tuesday.
One of the core objectives of GRAM is to empower the farmers with latest technical know-how and best practices and providing them with new business opportunities and avenues for growth and agriculture and allied ecosystems, said the statement.
