The Indian Premier League (IPL) begins its first ever trophy tour starting March 19. Making its debut from Pune, the IPL 2016 trophy will travel to six different cities in India ending its journey in Mumbai, home to last year's champions Mumbai Indians.
"This is the first ever trophy tour which will not only promote the league but will also give cricket fans across the country a chance to witness the trophy first hand in their cities. With new title sponsor Vivo on board, we are thrilled to embark on this exciting six-city tour to showcase the trophy," IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla said on Wednesday.
The trophy tour will start on March 19 in Pune and will travel to Hyderabad (March 20), Raipur (March 26), New Delhi (March 27), Kolkata (April 1) and will conclude in Mumbai on April 2 and 3.
