Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), have reached a consensus on the remaining issues of the nuclear deal that was signed between Iran and six major world powers earlier this month.
Iran's Ambassador to the IAEA, Reza Najafi, said on Wednesday after a meeting between Iranian representatives and the UN nuclear agency that Iran expected the arguments over the two remaining issues to be wrapped up after another meeting, according to the IRNA news agency.
Najafi said that during the meeting, the two sides discussed complicated issues related to previous years, as well as allegations about heavy explosions in Marivan.
Iran has agreed to provide controlled access to the IAEA at Marivan, Najafi said.
The meeting between representatives of Iran and the UN nuclear agency has been under way since Wednesday morning.
Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers -- the US, Britain, China, Russia, France plus Germany -- had signed a framework nuclear deal at the start of this month after tortuous talks in the Swiss city of Lausanne.
The deal aims to significantly scale back Iran's nuclear programme, to stop it from acquiring a nuclear weapon, in return for the lifting of global sanctions that had crippled the Islamic republic's economy.
A comprehensive agreement is expected by the end of June this year.
