Former Iranian vice president Hamid Baghaei was detained on Monday, said an Iranian Judiciary spokesman without stating the reasons for the arrest, media reported.
Hamid Baghaei was summoned to the judiciary on Monday and was later detained, spokesperson Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei said, declining to talk about the charges against him, official IRNA news agency reported.
Baghaei served as former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad' s vice president in charge of executive affairs.
He was the second deputy to the former leader to have been arrested.
