A senior commander of the Islamic State (IS), Yaser Khurasani, was among six militants killed in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.
"Acting upon intelligence report, aircraft targeted the hideout of the IS group in Khogiani district, killing Khurasani and five others on the spot," Xinhua news agency quoted an Afghan Army statement as saying.
Khurasani is the second IS commander killed in Afghanistan after Abu Saad Erhabi, who was slain in Nangarhar province on Saturday.
