Pro-Islamic State (IS) wall-chalking appeared in Larkana in Pakistan's Sindh province Friday just a day before former prime minister Benazir Bhutto's seventh death anniversary.

The wall-chalking appeared in a youth hostel located in Sachal Colony, Dawn online reported.

Following the emergence of the wall-chalking, residents of the area voiced their concerns after which police started an investigation.

The pro-IS wall-chalking has appeared at a time when people from different parts of the country are reaching Larkana in large numbers to observe the seventh death anniversary of former Pakistan Peoples Party chairman and the country's assassinated prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The Bhutto family - Benazir Bhutto and her father, former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was deposed and executed by then military dictator Zia ul Kaq - belonged to Larkana.

Similar wall-chalking of IS was also found in the farm house compound of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif near Lahore a few weeks ago, alarming the officials.

On Thursday , a grenade attack on Pakistan Rangers personnel which injured a soldier, was rumoured to be linked with the IS.
