The Indian School of Business (ISB) is all set to start a course on "A Life of Happiness and Fulfilment" that will focus on happiness of employees and the way to enhance it, it was announced here on Monday.
The course content is based on emerging scientific research particularly -- from 'positive psychology' that deals with scientific understanding and effective intervention to aid in the achievement of a satisfactory life, ISB said in a statement.
"The Indian School of Business (ISB), with campuses at Mohali and Hyderabad, is all set to make its foray into the Massive Open Online Course world with a course on 'A Life of Happiness and Fulfilment', the course which will be offered on Coursera," the statement said.
The new course will be taught by Raj Raghunathan, visiting professor of marketing at the ISB and professor of marketing at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin.
"The course is a step forward in ISB's mission to leverage technology and make its vast knowledge resources accessible to a larger audience globally. The school pioneered the concepts of 'Flipped Classroom', the 'Engaged Classroom' and the Unified Class through telepresence. It is actively working on transforming the delivery of cutting edge management education," ISB dean Ajit Rangnekar said.
"As Coursera's first partner in India, ISB is playing a leading role in bringing India's educational expertise to the world," Rick Levin, Coursera's chief executive officer, said.
The course would highlight the most common "happiness sins" that even the smart-and-successful among us commit. It talks about happy employees being more productive than their less happy counterparts and what you can do, starting today, to enhance the quality of your life.
