World record holder in women's pole vault Yelena Isinbaeva has presented her candidacy for the presidency of the Russian Athletic Federation two months after announcing her retirement.
Isinbaeva had already announced her intention to preside over the federation after her definitive exclusion from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro was confirmed in early August after charges of doping against Russian athletes, reports Efe.
She will have to face three other candidates: the current president, Dmitri Shliajtin, former Olympic champion in men's high jump Andrey Silnov, and Mikhail Butov.
