Indian Super League (ISL) franchise FC Goa on Friday announced it has re-signed Brazilian football great and World Cup winner Lucio for the forthcoming third edition of the football tournament.
Lucio, a celebrated defender having played in several top European clubs, made 105 international appearances, scoring four times and helping Brazil win the 2002 World Cup.
He joined the ISL in 2015 when he signed for FC Goa to play under fellow Brazilian Zico.
Zico was named the captain of FC Goa and guided the team to the final where they lost to Chennaiyin FC.
The 38-year-old will hope to drive his team towards the title.
"I am very happy to sign for FC Goa once again. We had a good tournament last year and I hope to make FC Goa champions this year. Consistency is the key for us and I am sure that we will do well once again this year under Zico's leadership," Lucio said.
