Israeli strikes carried out overnight Tuesday killed 13 more Palestinians following the artillery shelling on Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip, medics said.
The Palestinians, including a paramedic, were killed in intensive Israeli artillery shelling on residents' houses in Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip, Xinhua quoted Gaza Health Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qedra as saying, adding 40 people were also injured.
The eastern area of Jabalia was intensively struck by dozens of tanks shells fired by Israeli ground forces stationed east of the town, causing many casualties, said witnesses.
Earlier Tuesday evening, 12 Palestinians were killed in Israel's artillery shelling on various areas in northern, eastern and southern Gaza Strip, the official said, adding that dozens were injured.
According to the Gaza-based health ministry, the death toll in the enclave since Israel started the offensive there has risen to 1,231, with some 7,000 injured.
