It's great to be back on TV: Ali Merchant

Ali Merchant, who last made headlines with his wedding stint in the fourth season of reality show "Bigg Boss", will return to the small screen with "Yeh Hai Aashiqui - Disaster Series" after a year-long sabbatical.

The actor, who had married his then ladylove Sara Khan on "Bigg Boss" and then parted ways with her later, says it feels great to be back on TV.

"It feels great to be back on small screen; it's like rejuvenation for me. I have been following 'Yeh Hai Aashiqui...' and always love the way the show portrays such beautiful love stories," the actor said in a statement.

Ali, who debuted with the popular television series "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii", was seen in many hit shows like "Amber Dhara", "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat" and "Do Hanson Ka Jodaa" over the years.

Talking about his role in his comeback show, he said: "I am portraying the role of a Punjabi boy, Rudra, who comes to Mumbai in search of something good, only to find himself get stuck in horrific floods. And amidst all of this, he falls in love."

In the upcoming episode, Ali will be seen romancing actress Ruchi Savarn, who he meets in the most unusual of circumstances. It will air Sunday on Bindaas channel.
