Rome, July 9 (IANS/AKI) A man in northern Italy Tuesday confessed to murdering his wife after police found the woman's corpse with a deep throat wound.
Marco Malabarba, a 39-year-old labourer from Pavia, told police he stabbed his wife, Tiziana Rizzi, in the throat during a fight around 4 a.m. at the couple's apartment.
After the attack, the man fled with his two-year-old son to the home of his parents, who called emergency services.
Rizzi, 36, is believed to have died almost immediately after she was stabbed.
The couple reportedly had frequent violent quarrels but had never separated. The woman had also never reported her husband to police for assault.
