Italy's Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni on Wednesday underwent angioplasty, a surgical intervention to widen obstructed arteries, Italian media outlets reported.
Gentiloni was admitted to Gemelli hospital here after he fell ill upon his return from Paris, and was said to be recovering well, Efe news reported.
For the moment, no official details were given on his health, but he would reportedly have to stay in hospital for a few days.
Gentiloni, who in December replaced Matteo Renzi as the Prime Minister, was scheduled to travel to London on Thursday to meet with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
