Italian cyclist Elia Viviani took the gold medal in the Olympic men's track event, forcing Britain's Mark Cavendish to settle for the silver.
Viviani, who rides professionally for Sky, finished the two-day event with 207 points on Monday, seven ahead of super-sprinter Cavendish, a member of the Dimension Data team, Efe news reported.
The bronze medal went to Lasse Norman Hansen of Denmark.
The race had to be suspended for more than 10 minutes after Viviani, Australia's Glenn O'Shea and South Korean rider Sanghoon Park went down in a wreck caused by Cavendish.
Park was ultimately carried off the track on a stretcher.
