Abidjan, May 22 (IANS/MAP) Ivory Coast is set to hold the 9th edition of the International Book Fair of Abidjan (SILA) from May 24 and has invited visitors to participate massively in the event.
The book fair will held at the Bernard Binlin Dadie Culture Palace in Treichville from May 24 to May 28, according to the report on Monday.
"...The book and reading will be instituted at the heart of the family unit to combat illiteracy and Illiteracy," said Angels Felix N'dakpri, president of the Association of Publishers of Côte d'Ivoire (ASSEDI).
He added that SILA 2017 will take place over five days to allow all families residing in Abidjan and elsewhere to participate in the fair.
Spain is invited to this cultural event. Prizes will be given to the best literary and publishing actors, followed by the inauguration of the exhibition of the Spanish pavilion.
The 2017 edition of SILA will be punctuated by signings, round tables, training sessions, literary forums and workshops.
