Travel search marketplace ixigo on Monday launched a meta-search across curated budget hotels on its website.
A meta-search engine (or aggregator) is a search tool that uses another search engine's data to produce results from the internet.
"We are making the lives of travellers simpler by narrowing down to the best budget hotels in India from among the 12,000 in our database. We've filtered them by amenities, location and by sifting through thousands of reviews and photos on the web," Aloke Bajpai, co-founder and chief executive, ixigo said.
"Our team has also visited many of our chosen 2,500 hotels to ensure that only the best ones earn the 'super value' tag. These accommodations provide great value for money and hence we recommend them for price-conscious travellers," he added.
The company said it will roll out super value hotels on its apps very soon, and by December it will also double the number of cities and super value hotels it cover.
