J & J gets nod for Himachal expansion

Healthcare major Johnson & Johnson Ltd. Wednesday got approval to expand its facility in Himachal Pradesh with an investment of Rs.36 crore.

A meeting of state-level Single Window Clearance and Monitoring Authority, headed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, cleared expansion proposals of four companies with a combined proposed investment of Rs.78.42 crore, a government spokesperson told IANS.

The proposals include Johnson & Johnson to invest Rs.36.63 crore, Tirupati Medicare Ltd. Rs.30.83 crore, and Parvati Steel and Allays Ltd to invest Rs.10.10 crore.

The spokesperson said the chief minister while reviewing the expansion proposal of Jaypee Himachal Cement Plant Unit-I, a group of infrastructure group Jaiprakash Associates Ltd., at Baga in Solan district for enhancement of its clinker capacity, directed the industries department to check production, capacity and other details of the plant.
