Talks are on to fast track a sequel to "Jack Reacher", the 2012 film starring Tom Cruise.
Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions are moving ahead with the plan of a sequel of the film, which is based on Lee Child's bestselling novel series.
The new installment will be based on Child's "Never Go Back", published earlier this year, reports deadline.com.
"Jack Reacher" director Christopher McQuarrie adapted the first one, but now he is too busy preparing "Mission Impossible 5" to start production in summer 2014.
However, Cruise and the studio hope McQuarrie will direct the "Jack Reacher" sequel as well.
