Jamia Millia Islamia has launched a mobile dental unit to provide primary dental healthcare to people living around the varsity, an official said Wednesday.
The bus, "Mobile Dental Clinic", is equipped with two dental chairs as also a LCD television, DVD players and a public address system. It can seat about 20 people at a time and also serve as a place where people can be educated about oral hygiene.
"It is an integrated mobile clinic where doctors among the faculty of dentistry and students under training will provide treatment and awareness," Simi Malhotra, the varsity's media co-ordinator, told IANS.
Treatment would be provided free of cost; in time, the bus is expected to foray into other parts of the capital also.
