Japan's Fukui Prefecture Monday reached an agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on cooperation in training nuclear and radiological engineers.
The two sides will use the prefecture's nuclear plants and radiological facilities to train young Japanese and foreign engineers, according to the memorandum signed by Fukui Governor Issei Nishikawa and IAEA director general Yukiya Amano, reports Xinhua.
"We would like to take advantage of Fukui Prefecture's experience to contribute towards nuclear safety around the world," said Nishikawa.
The prefecture expects to receive IAEA technical support for nuclear plant safety control and radiological medical services.
